Now Donate Through Facebook
On Monday, Facebook rolled out a new feature that lets you donate to non-profits directly through their Facebook page. This feature called Donate will appear besides Posts in News Feed as well as on top of the page said company in this post which added:
When people click “Donate Now” they can choose the amount, enter their payment information, and immediately donate to that cause. They also have the option to share the nonprofit’s post with their friends. We hope this will help increase donations as people encourage their friends to donate to the causes that are important to them.
Donate gives non profits an easier way to ask for donation and can help turn the likes into actual money for the causes they support. Here is a list of organizations Facebook has partnered with:
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
Kiva
Any nonprofit group that is interested in tapping into this new feature on Facebook can fill out the Donate interest form in the Facebook Help Center. And anyone who wants to donate can just find the organization on Facebook and start contributing to a good cause.
However, a word of caution to privacy watchers: Facebook keeps your credit card information on file after you’ve used the Donate button. So, that might be something worth thinking about before you start using this feature.
